Aleksander Valjamae (EE)

I was born in 1978 in Tallinn, Estonia. From 1996 to 2000 I studied for my B.Sc. degree at the Department of Radio and Communications Engineering, Tallinn University of Technology. My B.Sc. thesis “The Development of Computer Assisted Radio Systems at Estonian Radio” was based on my work experience at this public radio, where I had been working for 3 years as an engineer. As a part of technology development group I worked on evaluation and implementation of new technical solutions in the areas of radio production and broadcasting. I also provided technical support for digital audio workstations at ER radio drama department and had wonderful opportunity to take part in several radio programs production as sound engineer and producer. I came to Sweden in 2001, where I studied in the International Master program in “Digital Communications” at the Department of Signals and Systems (S2), Chalmers University of Technology. I wrote my M.Sc. thesis, “A Feasibility Study Regarding Implementation of Holographic Audio Rendering Techniques over Broadcast Networks”, in collaboration with the Department of Applied Acoustics. In this thesis I searched for new audio compression algorithms for multichannel sound delivery in real-time Wave Field Synthesis (WFS) applications.
